Fletcher Street Cottage has been in operation since 2022, and is open four days a week, providing our most vulnerable locals with meals, showering facilities, financial assistance, counselling, mental health support and most importantly giving them a sense of home within their walls.
The homeless community in Byron is growing with the cost-of-living crisis, with 300 locals last year sleeping rough. We are aiming to raise awareness on the fact that homelessness could happen to anyone and is a fast-growing issue in our community.

This has changed my life in many ways and I'm beyond grateful for this community that encouraged me to pursue my dream, sharing my art at the local markets and in doing so - after seeing the joy it brings the people that stop by to see my work - continuing my journey of pursuing my passions as a visual artist through my painting and photography.

I'm Jeremy Perez, a passionate photographer who fell in love with the art from a young age. Thanks to my dad, who passed on his passion to me, I developed a deep appreciation for capturing the beauty of nature. The natural world has always fascinated me, and it's where my photography journey truly began. With every click of the shutter, I feel a connection to something greater. Nature's charm enchants me, and I strive to capture its fleeting moments. From the delicate hues of a sunrise to breathtaking landscapes and the infinite blue of the underwater world, I find endless inspiration in the world around me.
On December 8, 2023, I had the dive of my life at South West Rock, a gift from my partner. The water was crystal clear, and I had the incredible opportunity to capture this shot of a grey nurse shark (Carcharias taurus). Underwater, I always feel an immense sense of calm, as if I'm in a parallel dimension, more deeply connected to the ocean.

Shanti Des Fours is an interdisciplinary artist based in Mullumbimby. Her multifaceted practice delves into themes of identity, personal histories, beliefs, and perception, exploring the complexities of self and memory.
Her work is arresting as it is beautiful, primal and elemental, defying the “norm” of beauty by casting light upon the inner being in all aspects of self: healing, defiant and radiant glory.
Her ability to manifest the metaphysical into the physical, using softness and scale creates a sense of lyrical unease, enticing the viewer to look deeper, giving Justine her own unique and unmistakeable signature.
A dance of light & playful, strong & sinuous energies tethered by shadow thoughts.. doubt, uncertainty. Primal & elemental, whimsical, unnerving.

Originally from Italy and now local for over 11 years, I come from a background in humanistic studies, and I am here to share a lifelong passion for art and creativity. My art is deeply influenced by abstract themes, expressionism, and conceptualism. From a young age, I created abstract paintings that puzzled my family, leading me to also explore realism through charcoal. Though I’ve always played with acrylics, I’ve recently discovered the beauty of oil painting and here I am with one of my last creations.
